FAQs

We have a Frequent Stayers Club, which you can join for free on your third stay with us, which will give you lots of discounts at places around the town, and special offers and advantages such as late check-outs, (subject to following bookings).

  • Our office is open: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturdays.  We are closed on Sundays and public holidays.
  • Our after hours emergency phone number is  0439 410 988.
  • After hours key collections are possible for any time, however this does need to be arranged with the office during business hours.  (See below).
  • For all bookings, 50% of the tariff plus administration fee, is required as a deposit to confirm the booking and is payable at the time of booking. Balance of all outstanding monies is due thirty (30) days prior to your arrival, with the exception of Peak Season Bookings ( 1st Nov – Jan 31st), where the balance is due on or before the 1st of November.

Normal check in time is 2 p.m. on your arrival date. Check out time is 10 a.m. on the last day of your stay.

  • Provided your accommodation is paid in full, we will take your keys to Kerry’s Korner Shop (formerly the NightOwl Convenience Store) located about 200m from our office up the main street at 50 Bulcock Street, Caloundra.  Kerry’s Korner Shop is open every day of the year, 7 a.m. until 9 p.m..  Payment of accommodation and security deposit for after hours’ arrivals is to be made 7 days prior to arrival, and you will need to show them your booking confirmation, or some photo I.D..
  • If you are on the way, but are held up with traffic problems or some other unforeseen circumstance, please phone us and you can pay your balance by credit card over the phone or we can come to some other arrangements if required.  If it is after 5 p.m. (or after 4 on a Saturday) our after hours emergency phone number is 0439 410 988 should you need it.

You will need to bring your own sheets, pillow cases, towels, face washers, bath mat and tea towels. Our units are not serviced daily as you would find in a larger hotel or on-site managed properties. Bringing your own linen (or you can hire it locally), dramatically reduces costs to landlords and these savings are passed on to you and helps to keep our accommodation affordable. Pillows, blankets, doonas or bedspreads are provided.

We can assist with your luggage by pre-arrangement. The cost is $30. Please ask the office if you’d like more details on this.

The fabulous, family-friendly Caloundra Music Festival is generally held on the long weekend in October. Click on this link to take you to the Music Festival’s website. Unfortunately the Caloundra Music Festival for 2024 has been cancelled.

All of our properties have a washing machine, and nearly all of the units have a clothes dryer. If a dryer is not provided you will find a clothesline on the premises.

We have a number of supermarkets in the Caloundra area within a 10-minute drive. There are two Woolworths, Coles and KMart, an Aldi and an IGA. Woolworths are open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. every week day, and 8.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Saturdays and 9.00 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays. Kerry’s Korner Shop (formerly The Nightowl convenience store) in the main street is open 365 days a year from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m.. You can pre-arrange for your groceries to be delivered to your holiday rental property on-line with both Woolworths and Coles, however you must be at the property at the time of delivery, so be sure to allow enough time in case of traffic or other issues that could hold up your predicted arrival time! Kerry’s Korner Shop can also have groceries ready for collection with your keys if you pre-arrange with them. They have a great range.

Unfortunately not many of our properties allow pets, however a few houses do, but please ask the office to be sure, or check on the listing as it will be written on there if allowed. There are a number of good kennels available in the Caloundra area where your pet could also have a holiday, one quite close at Moffat Beach, and you could take him or her out for a walk on one of our pet friendly beaches. Phone our office if you would like more details.

Most of the properties that we rent have one car accommodation. Usually in unit blocks there is a visitor parking bay, however this is as the name suggests only for short-term visitors, not normally overnight visitors. Most of the areas in Caloundra however have plenty of off-street parking available, although be aware that some areas especially close to the town area may have parking restrictions such as 2 hour limits or parking meters. When this is the case there will be free parking a little further away.

  • Whilst no responsibility is taken for lost property, any clothing or items that cleaners deem to be of value or sentimental value, will be brought back to our office.
  • We will normally try to phone you for your instructions on same.   Our preferred way of returning items to you is for you to send us a self-addressed Express Post bag or Parcel Post satchel or similar available from any post office, and we will post the item/s back to you as quickly as possible.
  • Lost property will only be kept in the office for a period of 3 months, except by special arrangement, after which time it will be given to charity.

Australia Zoo is a 25-minute drive south of Caloundra and is situated on Steve Irwin Way, Beerwah.

Our office has an after hours emergency call-out phone, which is available 95% of the time for your convenience. The number is 0439 410 988, (or a backup no. 0418 796 688). If you give us a call on this number we will endeavour to get another set of keys to you. There is a $40 call out fee for this service, $80 after 8 p.m., $200 on a Public Holiday as we still have to pay someone. Alternately if you are not able to reach anyone you can phone Fort Knox Locksmiths on 07 5491 5000 and they will assist you with any problem. Keys locked in a unit callout fee through the locksmiths after hours service is $170 (at the time of writing), more on a Public Holiday. Fort Knox can also assist with things such as power outages etc., where they will invoice the office and not the guest.

Please go to “Forms” under the “Guests” tab on this site and download the pdf form “Come Rain or Shine” for a complete list of what to do in inclement weather. You certainly won’t be bored!

All include cutlery, crockery, glassware, blankets or a doona, quilts, pillows, a stove, an oven, a washing machine and TV. Most have microwave ovens, automatic dishwashers and clothes driers for your convenience, and many have DVD players or VCRs, stereos, patio furniture and a swimming pool. The price list shows many details.

Except where stated in the price list, linen and towels are not included. You have the choice of bringing your own or we can hire it for you locally for $51-$99 p.w. Our holiday properties are situated throughout the Caloundra area and it’s surrounding beaches. Golden Beach and Bulcock Beach feature the Pumicestone Passage estuary, with calm water for fishing, swimming, sailboarding, water-skiing, jet skis and small yachts. Kings Beach is extremely popular for its reliable surfing and has a recently renovated, fabulous 25m seawater pool on the beach, with a nearby water-fountain water play area for the kids (and the big kids). Other surf beaches, which face different directions, include Dicky Beach, (patrolled), Shelly Beach (rock fishing and shells), Moffat Beach (popular with surfers), and the 10km stretch of Kawana, also great for surf fishing. Currimundi Lake beach has surf with wide beaches and a unique shallow inlet where the lake enters the ocean: is perfect for smaller kids, and patrolled (surf only), at holiday times. Should you choose a holiday unit without a pool, Caloundra has a magnificent public pool complex, with a heated indoor pool, a heated (until end of September) 25m and 50m outdoor lap pools, and a toddlers’ pool, all in a picnic garden setting. Change rooms, toilets, a gym, showers and a snack bar are provided, and one of the best skate parks in Australia also in the grounds if that is of interest to some members of the family.

When you book with Caloundra Holiday Centre, you may be assured of excellent service from friendly staff; a clean, well- equipped unit or house representing excellent value for the price asked. You will receive on arrival a holiday newsletter outlining places of interest and things to do; and there is a large selection of interesting holiday brochures in the office. We have a Frequent Stayers Club, which you can join for free on your third stay with us, which will give you lots of discounts at places around the town, and special offers and advantages such as late check-outs, (subject to following bookings).

If you call us back to book a holiday, we suggest you pick out 2 or 3 properties, just in case your first choice is already booked. You can pay your deposit by credit card over the phone, or send a personal cheque or money order, or you can pay by Internet banking or directly at any branch of the Commonwealth bank. We will then send you a trust account receipt with confirmation of your booking in writing, and give you some further details about your holiday stay. We look forward to speaking with you shortly to help plan your holiday. Phone us on 1800 817 346 for any further info. You can also book directly on-line. Click here to go to our accommodation tab. If you have a Senior’s Card please mention this at the time of booking to check if you are eligible to a discount, (only available during certain periods), and you will also be required to show it on arrival. Once a receipt is issued, we regret it cannot be reversed to allow the discount.

Cover yourself against cancellation fees!

Unforseen events can happen which may force you to have to cancel your holiday on short notice. For this reason we strongly suggest that you take out Travel Insurance. You can normally organise this with your own insurers, but most companies will offer competitive rates for short stays.
Hiring all your holiday needs from linen hire, baby items, beach gear, health care, or an extra fridge. Long stay winter specials available too.

While our office is a licensed Real Estate agency, we chose not to sell properties, but to concentrate totally on our holiday rental properties. There are a number of great real estate agents in town, and we are happy to help with recommendations with our local knowledge. We can highly recommend Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate to assist you with both Sales and permanent rentals.
If you need a doctor to visit your accommodation urgently, House Call Doctor provides home GP visits that are bulk-billed for Medicare or DVA Card holders. Phone 13 55 66 to book an appointment.
