Things to do in Moffat Beach

Moffat Beach has a beautiful beach that attracts a surfing crowd, but there is plenty to do here without going surfing.

There is a beautiful coastal walk that starts at Golden Beach and continues up the coast to Mooloolaba Beach. The Caloundra Coastal Walk is well worth the effort, is 16km in total and will take you roughly 4 hours to complete. You won’t struggle to enjoy this spectacular part of the world. On the way you can see birdlife and dolphins at Pumicestone Passage, the historical jetty used for military operations during WWII and the Kings Beach water park and rock pools.

Moffat Beach is not a patrolled beach and the waves can get a little rough at times, so you will need to be careful, however, the sandy inlet of Tooway Creek offers family-friendly swimming. It certainly is a stunning beach to relax at and enjoy your holiday. Tooway Creek also gives you the opportunity to go paddleboarding or kayaking.

Moffat Beach is one of the Sunshine Coast’s top picnic spots. Picnic shelters and BBQ’s are available at Eleanor Shipley Memorial Park which provides ocean views over the beach. The park is very popular for weddings and other events.

Moffat Beach is a dog-friendly beach and they have off-leash access between 4pm and 8am daily.

Cafe By the Beach

Provides both alfresco and indoor dining with a relaxed beachside atmosphere. Along with excellent coffee, the fully licenced establishment serves a selection of Asian, Italian and modern Australian fare. Popular among locals and holidaymakers alike, Cafe By the Beach is family and pet-friendly.

Moffat Beach Brewing Co.

Is one of the top craft breweries in Australia. It is the winner of the Independent Brewers Association award for the best small brewery in Australia, the microbrewery is quickly garnering a solid reputation for the brewing magic it conjures at its casual beachside location on Seaview Terrace. With 12 beers rotating across its six taps — brewed on-site from scratch with zero preservatives — there’s something for all, from light summer ales and tart sours to hazy NEIPAs and amber IPAs.

The Pocket Espresso Bar

This is a long-standing favourite with the locals. It is renowned to be one of the best cafes on the Sunshine Coast. Offering a relaxed and friendly vibe with courtyard and alfresco dining, it bustles with a mix of locals and holidaymakers at breakfast and lunch seven days a week, as well as dinners (Friday through Sunday).

When you book your Moffat Beach holiday rental with Caloundra Holiday Centre, you will be assured of excellent service from friendly staff; a clean, well- equipped unit or house representing excellent value for the price asked.  You will receive on arrival a holiday newsletter outlining places of interest and things to do, and there is a large selection of interesting holiday brochures in the office.  We have a Frequent Stayers Club, which you can join for free on your third stay with us, which will give you lots of discounts at places around the town, and special offers and advantages such as late check-outs, (subject to following bookings).

When you call us back to book a holiday, we suggest you pick out 2 or 3 properties, just in case your first choice is already booked.  You can pay your deposit by credit card over the phone, or send a personal cheque or money order, or you can pay by Internet banking or directly at any branch of the Commonwealth bank.  We will then send you a trust account receipt with confirmation of your booking in writing, and give you some further details about your holiday stay.  We look forward to speaking with you shortly to help plan your holiday.
