The Sunshine Coast offers a world of things to do including the Ocean markets in Maroochydore, the famous Australia Zoo in Beerwah and the equally as famous Eumundi Markets. Lets dive deeper into these exciting things to see and do.

Eumundi Markets

Eumundi Markets are a must visit when holidaying on the Sunshine Coast. Known for the beautiful selection of arts and crafts, there is an eclectic mix of stalls and people to brighten your day. Strolling around the markets at Eumundi, it is easy to see why these are world famous markets. There are more than 600 stalls set amongst the beautiful trees and heritage village. There are food stalls and restaurants as well as coffee shops and book stores and plenty of arts and crafts. It isn’t a holiday on the Sunshine Coast without a trip to the famous Eumundi Markets.

Australia Zoo

Australia Zoo in Beerwah is world famous thanks to the larger than life character that was the late Steve Irwin. His legacy lives on with the zoo and is a true testament to the man that was so passionate about Australian Wildlife and bought understanding to Australia’s misunderstood animals, particularly crocodiles. Australia Zoo is a 700 acre (280 ha) zoo located on the Sunshine Coast in Beerwah, near the Glass House Mountains. Just the drive alone is stunning and well worth it.

Australia Zoo won the Australian Tourism Awards for 2003-2004 in the category Major Tourist Attraction. They have won countless other awards since that time and the family continue on with Steves legacy of conservation. They not only have some of Australia’s most famous animals but also some of the worlds most famous, such as tigers, elephants, giraffes and a large range of Australian birds, snakes and crocodiles. This is truly one of the best things to do on the Sunshine Coast and a place you will remember for many years to come.

Sea Life Aquarium

Sea Life Aquarium on the Sunshine Coast is a marine mammal park, oceanarium and wildlife sanctuary. Sea life is definitely on the must visit list when holidaying on the Sunshine Coast. Sea Life is a multi-award winning attraction with over 10,000 creatures including one of Australia’s largest collections of jellyfish. Generally the Aquarium says to allow at least 2 hours for a visit which gives you plenty of time to take your time and really enjoy all that they have to offer.

Sea Life is situated at The Wharf at Mooloolaba and is home to thousands of marine and freshwater animals including sharks, penguins, stingrays, tropical fish and much more. There is also an interactive zone including the seahorse sanctuary, jellyfish kingdom and the amazing 80m shark tunnel.

No holiday to the Sunshine Coast is complete with out a visit to Sea Life Aquarium.

Glass House Mountains

The Glass House Mountains is a hinterland locality on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

The mountains themselves are stunning and well worth a visit. They are listed on the Queensland and National Heritage Register as a landscape of national significance. There are walking tracks that lead through a variety of open forests to lookouts with panoramic views of the mountains. You can also walk around the base of Mount Tibrogargan to see the stunning profiles from many angles and to the top of Mount Ngungun for absolutely stunning views of the nearby peaks and landscape.

There is a walking track called the Yul-yan-man track which offers a grade 5 walk.
